Welcome.

Here you will find nature photographer Elinor Osborn’s images of wildlife, flora, scenics, outdoor recreation and unusual ecosystems. My images have been published in magazines such as Vermont Life, Vermont magazine, Northern Woodlands, Stowe Guide, Cross Country Skier and Click, and in many books, brochures and on the web. The Nature Conservancy (national and also Central-Western), Genesee Land Trust of NY and other environmental organizations have also published my images.

I’m a 2009 winner in Nature’s Best Photography Backyards Contest sponsored by Nature’s Best, the most prestigious nature photography magazine in the U.S.
Documenting scientists’ projects has been very interesting. One of those, the trumpeter swan migration project, grew into a book, Project UltraSwan, which I both photographed and authored. Houghton Mifflin published it as part of their “Scientists in the Field” series. It is enjoyed both by children (from eight years of age on up) and adults.  It is available from Amazon.com.

All of the images on this site may be purchased as archival fine art prints. They are also available to photo buyers for licensing for publication. There are many, many more images in the collection so please ask if you need an image not found here.

To support the natural world which I so much enjoy photographing, I am a member of The Nature Conservancy, National Audubon Society, National Wildlife Federation, North American Butterfly Assn, North American Nature Photographers Assn, and others.
